Set in 51a George Street, a building that served as an auction house for more than a century, The Lyon is a modern public house with its past running through everything from the interiors and menus to the names of its different spaces. Auction rooms were loud, theatrical and full of characters, with the crowd as much a part of the action as the auctioneer. We've built our pub the same way.
It brings together gastropub dining, an in-house bakery, 18 draught beers and a mix of live entertainment every day.
By day, a relaxed public house. By early evening, a jazz-lit dining room, with pianists in Hammer Hall taking requests from the floor. By nine, the duelling pianos take over and the crowd becomes the show. Same four walls, a completely different night.
And when the kitchen closes, the pies keep coming. Our late-night pie window serves until 3am, or order them straight to your table from 10pm.

GASTROPUB
Executive Chef Jake Clayton and Head Chef Andrius Sabanovas have created a menu of reworked pub classics using seasonal produce from local suppliers, with dishes including lobster roll, ham, egg and chips and a Sunday roast set to be revealed.
18 draught beers, ranging from world beers and Scottish favourites to a rotating guest line. Cocktails with a bit of history. Try the Smokey Wee Number, bourbon and coffee finished with smoke at your table.
LATE NIGHT PIES
Our late-night pie window serves until 3am, with steak pie, macaroni cheese pie and Lorne sausage rolls, plus two seasonal pies that change regularly.

Two pianos, two players, one crowd calling the shots. Every night in The Hammer Hall - requests taken, choruses guaranteed, no quiet nights on George Street.
MONTHLY CEILIDH
One night a month, The Sale Room turns into the wildest ceilidh in Edinburgh. Featuring the world-renowned Whisky Kiss, the chart-topping ceilidh masters who've rocked stages from New York to Shanghai, it's a night of authentic Scottish spirit, high-energy dances and covers of your favourite hits.
